Artichokes and Feta Tarts

 This recipe makes use of artichoke hearts and feta cheese to make a savory pastry.Artichokes contain vitamins and nutrients that help prevent heart disease as well as Alzheimer’s.

Ingredients:
 
-200 grams artichoke hearts, halved
-2 packs premade puff pastry
-½ cup heavy cream
-½ cup feta cheese, crumbled
-1 egg, beaten
-salt to taste
-pepper to taste
-extra virgin olive oil as needed
-baking flour as needed
 
Directions:
 
Preheat your oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Place the cream and half the feta
cheese in a bowl then season with salt and pepper. Whisk until the mixture becomes
very smooth then set aside.
Spread some flour on your work surface the roll the puff pastries into a rectangle.
Place the puff pastries in a baking tray. Remember to make a tiny incision with a
knife to allow it expand while baking.
Cut the artichoke hearts into tiny pieces, enough to occupy half of the puff pastries.
Place the artichokes on top of the feta cheese mixture then spread evenly on the
pastries. Drizzle with olive oil and brush with the beaten egg.
Bake the pastry in the oven 30 minutes or until they turn into a light, golden brown
color. Remove from the oven and serve.
