Burghul pilaf recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups coarse burghul
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup crumbled fine vermicelli

Instructions

  1. • Fry vermicelli in heated butter in a pot.
  2. • Add burghul.
  3. • Fry for 5 minutes over moderate heat.
  4. • Stir in salt, pepper and water.
  5. • Bring to a boil.
  6. • Lower heat and cover pot.
  7. • Continue cooking for 20 to 25 minutes.
  8. • Serve hot when burghul becomes fluffy and moist.
