Chilli and Ginger Stir Fried Broccoli and Pak Choy
Stir fry is a quintessential method originating from Chinese cuisine. This recipe for Chilli and Ginger Stir Fried Brocolli Pak Choy is delicious and relatively simple to prepare.
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon sesame oil
250 grams broccoli, trimmed
250 grams pakchoy leaves
3 cloves garlic, crushed or minced
1 long red chilli, sliced
1 piece ginger, finely minced
1 tablespoon soy sauce
Wash the broccoli and pakchoy leaves thoroughly. Chop the pakchoy leaves coarsely.
In a pan, heat the vegetable oil then fry the garlic and ginger for 1 minute. Add the broccoli and the pakchoy leaves then season with salt and pepper. Cook until the broccoli becomes tender and the pakchoy leaves wilted. Add the chilli and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes. Remember to stir constantly to avoid the ingredients being burned. You may also add small amounts of water to help dilute the flavor and to accelerate the cooking process, as this will create steam. Cover the dish for 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and serve over rice. You may also add fileted chicken to the dish if desired.
