Sambar rice – Preparation Method

Ingredients

  • Capsicum, Tomato - 1
  • Green chilli - 3
  • Tamarind - as required
  • Bengal gram - 2 teaspoon
  • Sesame, Black gram - 1 teaspoon
  • Sun dried chilli - 4
  • Coriander seed - 1 teaspoon
  • Asafoetida - ΒΌ teaspoon
  • Pepper, cumin seed - 1 teaspoon
  • Cinnamon - 2
  • Fennel seed - as required
  • Bay leaf - 2
  • Ginger - small piece
  • Garlic - 3 pieces
  • Small onion - 10
  • Curry leaves - as required
  • Coriander - as required
  • Ghee - as required
  • Mustard seed, black gram - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - as required
  • Oil - as required

Instructions

  1. Roast Bengal gram, black gram, sun dried chilli, coriander seeds, pepper, and cumin seed separately and grind it as powder.
  2. Clean the drumstick, carrot, beans, tomato , capsicum, green chilli and chop as small pieces.
  3. Wash the rice.
  4. Add water with tamarind and make it as paste.
  5. Heat the oil add mustard seed, black gram, cinnamon, fennel seed, bay leaf, suppressed ginger and garlic, onion and roast it well.
  6. Now add chopped vegetables, after some time add the powder already we have made, and then stir well.
  7. Now add this mixture with rice and boil it in cooker.
  8. After removing from stove add curry leaves, coriander leave and serve.
