Sauteed Broccolini

This recipe features Broccolini, a vegetable that’s related to, and quite similar to broccoli. Broccolini is a very healthy vegetable, containing vitamins C and A, as well as being an excellent source of iron, calcium and folate. Studies have shown that Broccolini is good for maintaining a healthy nervous system, due to its high potassium content. They also help prevent certain types of cancer, as well as boosting the immune system and promoting bone health. Broccolini is also very good for those who suffer from allergies, as they have certain natural antihistamine properties. This healthy dish is fairly simple to make. It is a perfect meal for vegetarians and the health conscious.

Sauteed Broccolini


1 kilogram Broccolini with trimmed ends
2 cloves garlic, finely minced
salt to taste
pepper to taste
extra virgin olive oil as needed


Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add salt then boil the Broccolini for 5-10 minutes or until they become tender. Remove from heat then drain water and set the Broccolini aside.

In a pan or skillet, heat some olive oil. Fry the garlic for 1-2 minutes. Add the Broccolini then continue cooking for another 1-2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper until the Broccolini is heated through. Remove from heat and serve.
