Stir Fried Bitter Melon
Bitter melons may be unappealing to some because of their flavor, but it has many health benefits that can be garnered from its consumption. 3 bitter melons, slice into 1 inch pieces
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 small white onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons bitter vegetable oil
Before you stir fry the bitter melons, you must first blanch them for 2-3 minutes to temper its flavor. Simply bring a pot of water to a boil and throw in the sliced bitter melons. Remove from heat and set aside.
In a wok or pan, heat the vegetable oil and fry the garlic and onions for about 1-2 minutes. Add the bitter melons and cook for another 1-2 minutes. Finish the dish by adding the egg and cooking for another 1-2 minutes. Remember to stir constantly to balance the flavor. Remove from heat and serve.
